Completion of the Biosafety Principles course is required if your job or coursework involves handling live animals or handling animal-derived materials. Examples of personnel who must complete this training include:
- Personnel (Principal Investigators, research staff and animal care staff) who will be using or handling animals or animal-derived materials
- MSU staff who are handling animals or their products or wastes
- Animal Caretakers (including farm and VTH personnel)
- A Veterinary Medicine student
- Personnel who will work in the DCPAH lab environment (MSU, MDA, USDA or DNR employees or visiting professionals).
- DCPAH Administrative personnel
