Asbestos Awareness Refresher	Introduction
Welcome! This asbestos awareness refresher course is for employees who work in areas where they may encounter asbestos. This is a refresher course for those who have had the initial training course in the past year. Anyone who has not had the initial asbestos awareness course should contact their supervisor or the Office of Environmental and Occupational Safety to schedule training.  This course meets the requirements for the training of maintenance and custodial staff set forth by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 40 CFR 763 and by MIOSHA in Part 602 Asbestos Standards for Construction. This course will NOT allow you to work with asbestos.  This is only an awareness course to provide information for working around asbestos safely.  For those who work directly with asbestos, a minimum of 16 hours of training is needed. BEFORE YOU GO ON ----- Read the following statement: I understand that completing this web-based training will fulfill my requirements for the asbestos awareness annual refresher at MSU.  I agree to read each section completely and in the order presented, complete the short question section, and fill out the registration form at the end.  If I do not understand any part of this training, I will direct my questions to the Office of Environmental and Occupational Safety for clarification. I understand that by completing this training, I will not be able to work with asbestos (this includes removal, clean-up, encapsulation, or other related activities).  This is only an awareness training to provide information to safely work around asbestos-containing materials.
